Organised by DSZE Charitable Foundation, this project delivered a new mural for Lucky Dog Shelter. The mural was conceived, designed and led on site by an emerging artist from Sydney, Poppy D, who translated the shelter’s mission into a warm and uplifting visual narrative through a considered composition, a durable colour palette and engaging character led imagery.
As lead artist, Poppy D managed the work from concept to completion, planning the layout, preparing visual references and establishing a clear, staged process for delivery. She coordinated volunteers throughout the painting period, provided practical demonstrations, assigned tasks in line with differing skill levels and maintained quality control to ensure consistency in colour blocking, linework and detailing across the entire wall.
Alongside the artwork, essential wall renovation and waterproof protection works were undertaken to address a severely deteriorated surface, including a missing window area, ensuring the wall was safe, stable and properly prepared so the mural could be completed to a high standard and endure over time.
